What We Believe
At CrossLife Church, our beliefs shape everything we do — how we worship, how we serve, and how we love one another. You don’t need to understand or agree with everything on this page to be welcome among us. We’d love for you to come as you are and explore faith alongside us.
The Bible
We hold the Bible (containing the 39 books in the Old Testament and the 27 books in the New Testament only) as the divinely inspired and entirely trustworthy Word of God. The Bible is also the ultimate authority on matters relating to Christian conduct and the Church’s beliefs and order.
One God
We believe there is only one God who is the Creator and Preserver of all things — a unity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit; was born of the virgin Mary; lived and ministered in this world; was crucified; died and was buried; was raised bodily from the dead; ascended into Heaven; and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father.
We look forward to the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, which establishes God’s ultimate rule.
Sin and Salvation
We believe all mankind is sinful and of corrupt nature since the Fall, rendering us subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
Forgiveness of sins comes through Christ and Him alone. Redemption from the guilt, penalty, and power of sin is only through the vicarious death of Jesus Christ. It is through the work of the Holy Spirit that the death of Christ is made effective to the individual sinner, granting repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ.
The Church
We believe the one holy universal church consists of all true believers who have experienced redemption through Jesus Christ.
Our Mission
As a church, we are committed to:
- Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything Jesus has commanded (Matthew 28:18–20).
- Provide facilities that promote worship and the activities of discipleship.
- Support other ministries by providing facilities for Christian ministries with similar beliefs and mission to ours.
- Partner with others by co-operating with other Christian churches and organisations that share our beliefs and mission.
